I have studied the art of Jim Lee through his generous amount of youtube videos for quite a while now. One aspect that I have not been able to get comfortable with is action poses and range of motion. My first step in trying to conquer this to study and draw alternate head angles other than 3/4 downward angles.
I decided to try my first upward angle with my favorite character Firestorm. Here are some in process photos up to the completed, albeit stiff drawing:

I'll be the first to confess I do have a lot of learning and practice to accomplish on a lot of different aspects. Sometimes I hit it out of the park, more often than not I don't, but I'm learning about the process along the way from different sources and mentors. The best part of creating any Firestorm art is that once I have the basic subject drawn, the flames are all freestyle and that's where i have the most fun with it. This was drawn with a combination of different markers, pens and paint pens
